Selenite Yin Yang Candle Holder

A low selenite tea light holder carved in the shape of the yin yang, the Taoist symbol of balance between opposites. It is 10cm wide and 4cm high, low enough for a coffee table or a meditation shelf, and the light spreads across the whole symbol when the tea light is lit.

Selenite is a translucent form of gypsum that grows in long, fibrous crystals, so when a tea light burns inside it the flame glows softly through the walls and the whole piece seems lit from within. The top is polished, the underside cut flat so it stands steady, and the sides are left rough with the natural satin sheen and occasional whiter patches of the raw mineral.

It is a calm piece for a living room or a yoga corner, and an easy gift for someone who meditates. Keep it dry and dust it with a soft cloth.

Selenite. 10 x 8 x 4cm. Weighs 600g. From Morocco.
