A faint mica sparkle as it moves
A small polished sphere of green aventurine on a chain. Aventurine is the green quartz with a faint sparkle from the mica inside it, and on a sphere the sparkle shows as the ball turns.
A sphere pendulum has no tip to lead it, so it is read by the direction of the swing, in clean circles and straight lines, which many dowsers find easier to follow than a point. It hangs on a chain of about 170mm with a gemstone bead at the top to hold. Each one is made from natural stone, so the size and markings vary a little.
