A calm desk piece from the gemstone planet series
The Moon as a 40mm white howlite sphere on a goldstone stand. Howlite is the chalk-white stone threaded with fine grey veins, and polished into a ball it looks more like the moon than any other stone does, craters and seas and all, hence its choice for this piece in the gemstone planet series. Astrology gives the Moon peace, change and the tides of mood, and crystal practice reads howlite as the stone of patience and calm, so the pairing holds. The copper-flecked goldstone stand lifts it like a moon over a dark sea. At 5.5cm and 100g it is a desk or bedside object, and it is the most popular of the planets as a single purchase: a moon for a moon-watcher, a Cancer birthday, or a night light's companion.
White howlite sphere on goldstone stand. Planet 40mm, stand 3 x 15mm. 5.5 x 4cm overall. Weighs 100g.
