Celestite is strontium sulphate, usually found as clusters of ice-blue crystals inside geodes — the great Madagascan geodes are where most pieces come from. The name is from caelestis, heavenly, and it is one of the few stones whose colour genuinely matches its mythology: it looks like a piece of sky.
What celestite is used for
The tradition gives it to peace, dream work and gentle guidance — the softest of the blue stones, associated with restful sleep and with the quieter kinds of insight. It is a bedroom stone almost by definition, and the crown and third-eye chakras claim it.
A small cluster on the nightstand. It does its work by being looked at last thing, which is as honest a mechanism as any in this shop.
How to care for it
Fades in sun; keep dry, cleanse on selenite. It fades in sunlight and dislikes water — keep it dry, out of the sun, and cleanse it on selenite.
