Tiger's eye is quartz that has replaced fibrous crocidolite, keeping the fibres' silky structure — which is what produces the rolling band of light, the chatoyancy, that gives the stone its name. Gold and brown, occasionally red or blue, and unmistakable once you have seen one move.
What tiger’s eye is used for
It is the nerve stone: courage, resolve, action over hesitation. Roman soldiers reportedly carried it into battle; modern buyers carry it into interviews and difficult conversations, which is the same purchase. The tradition places it at the solar plexus, and pairs it with Gemini.
A pocket stone or bracelet — this one is for carrying on the days that need nerve, not for the shelf.
How to care for it
Cleanse in moonlight or with sound. Hard and untemperamental. A rinse and a wipe is all it asks.
