Indian jade is a green aventurine quartz, a soft mid-green with a faint sparkle from the mica inside it, and at 50mm this sphere shows the colour evenly all the way round. It is polished to a satin gloss and sits on its own stand at about 6.5cm tall. Jade of any kind has always been a stone of good fortune in the East, and the green aventurine sold as Indian jade carries the same reputation for luck and opportunity, so these spheres end up on desks and in shops. The colour is restful rather than bright, and it pairs well with wood and brass. Every sphere is cut from natural stone, so the shade and the sparkle vary a little from one to the next.
