Twenty-four unakite tumbles from South Africa. Unakite is a granite in which green epidote and pink feldspar have grown together, so every stone is mottled in moss green and salmon pink, like lichen on sandstone. In crystal practice it is read as the stone of balance, the heart's two colours in one piece.
There are twenty-four stones in the pack, each roughly 20 to 30mm and tumbled to a smooth polish. Twenty-four is the working quantity: enough for a bowl that looks generous, a crystal grid with spares, a workshop or a class, or a jar of small gifts for a party.
The pattern varies from stone to stone. The colours suit a bedroom or a bathroom shelf, and twenty-four is plenty for a grid with spares or a set of gifts.
