Six large tumble stones of white howlite magnesite from South Africa, polished smooth and marked with the fine black and brown veins that run through the stone. Each piece is 30 to 50mm, so these are the big tumbles, the size that fills a palm rather than a pocket, and six of them make a proper handful.
In crystal practice howlite is read as the stone of calm and patience, the one kept by the bed or held during meditation, and its chalk-white colour makes it the stone most often dyed to imitate turquoise. These are left their natural white.
Six of a size is enough to set round a room, drop into a bowl, or share among a group. They suit a crystal grid where a single large white stone is needed at each point. Natural stone, so the veining differs from piece to piece.
