Raw Crystals (500gm) - Sodalite
Rough deep blue sodalite veined white like a night sky

The breaks run along the veins and show them honestly
- 500g of raw sodalite
- Deep blue veined with white calcite
- Blue running to indigo and violet
- No gold pyrite, unlike lapis
- Rough pieces show the veining best

Indigo and violet blue, not the ultramarine of lapis
Half a kilo of raw sodalite, rough pieces of the deep blue stone veined with white calcite, the pattern people compare to a night sky or a map of islands. Sodalite is often confused with lapis, but it has no gold pyrite and its blue runs to indigo and violet rather than ultramarine. Rough pieces show the veining more honestly than a polished tumble, because the breaks run along it. In crystal practice sodalite is the stone of the third eye, associated with insight, logic and calm speech, and it is a popular desk stone for writers and students. A 500g bag gives a spread of sizes for a bowl, a grid, a terrarium or a set of small gifts, with no two pieces alike.
