Rock Crystal - 160 Stone
A clear quartz tree that works by light rather than colour
Put it on a windowsill and watch it throw the sun
- Works by light, not colour: a windowsill tree that throws the sun
- The safe present when you do not know their stone
- Stands on a chunk of real mineral rather than a cast base
- The tree that lights the rest of a gem forest
- Pairs with the clear quartz crystal sphere for a glass-and-crystal desk
The safe present when you do not know their stone
An Indian gemstone tree of 160 clear rock crystal chips hand-wired onto metal branches and mounted on a base of gemstone rock, 20.5cm tall and 300g. Clear quartz is the neutral, all-purpose stone of crystal practice, read as amplifying whatever is set with it, and as a tree it is the one that works by light rather than colour: in a window the chips catch the sun and throw it around the room, and beside a lamp the whole canopy glitters, so it is the tree for a windowsill or a dressing table where a coloured tree would compete with the room. It is also the safe choice as a present for someone whose stone you do not know. The branches bend to arrange, the base is a rough chunk of real mineral, and the tree is handmade in India from natural quartz, so the clarity and the veils in the chips vary from tree to tree. In a gem forest it is the one that lights the others.
Rock crystal chips, metal wire branches, gemstone rock base. 8 x 4 x 20.5cm. Weighs 300g. From India.
