Runes Stone Set in Pouch - Red Aventurine

A full set of red aventurine rune stones in a printed cotton pouch: twenty-five polished stones of the warm brick-red quartz with a faint mica sparkle, twenty-four engraved with the Elder Futhark and one blank. Red aventurine is the less common cousin of the green: the same sparkling quartz in a red-brown, read in crystal practice as vitality, decisiveness and the energy to act, where the green is luck and the chance to act. As runes it is the set for readings about work, drive and getting on with it, and the warm colour suits a wooden table and an autumn afternoon. Runes are the old Germanic alphabet, twenty-four letters that are also words and meanings, cast for divination since the early centuries AD and perhaps much earlier; the origins are argued over. The engraving shows clearly on the red, and the stones have a pleasing weight. Pouch 11 by 9cm, 230g.
