Amazonite is a blue-green feldspar named, romantically and wrongly, for the Amazon river — where it has never been found. The colour, unusual in stones, comes from traces of lead in the crystal structure, and ranges from pale seafoam to deep turquoise-green, usually with white streaks.
What amazonite is used for
The tradition gives it to calm speech: the soother of arguments, the stone for saying hard things gently. It sits between the heart and throat chakras, which is a fair map of what it is for. People buy it for households in a scratchy season and for anyone whose words come out sharper than they mean.
A worry-stone shape suits it — something to hold before the difficult conversation, not during.
How to care for it
Rinse gently; recharge on selenite. A brief rinse is fine; recharge it on selenite. Softer than quartz, so store it apart from harder stones.
